The windproof jacket is such a useful piece of biking kit that everybody must have one. They are so light there is nothing else that can keep the wind off, warmth in and yet be so breathable. Vaude use a fabric called Windproof 80. That means it is windproof to 80% but will allow 20% through in order to keep you cooler and improve breathability. Made from polyamide they are resistant to rain and at a fast cycling pace in a shower you are better in a windproof than a waterproof. The airflow and breathability will keep the rain out and the windshirt will constantly be trying to dry itself with your bodies heat. Of course they are available in lots of colours.
