Day Packs
A day pack will carry all you need for your days planned activities. Of course we all have different plans and therefore all need slightly different features from our backpacks. Generally ranging from 12 litres, (the Osprey Orb) to 35 litres, (the Vaude Triset 35+8) and everything in between you will be able to find a backpack that has features to suit you. Most backpacks will be hydration compatible, have a rain cover and some kind of compression straps. Some will have adjustable straps or back system (typically the bigger packs) and even have expandable capacity and dual compartments. The Vaude Wizard Air 30+4 is a great example of this. When choosing your day pack think about what you will need for your day out and add a bit of spare capacity. You should be thinking for a day in the mountains about waterproofs, food, drink, spare top, hats and gloves. This will vary considerably in winter when when perhaps will need to double your volume required. The Osprey Talon 22 is an excellent all rounder. Well featured with elastic side pockets, compression straps, H20 sleeve, and hip belt with pockets, this backpack will cover most days out. It even has a lid latch for adding your cycle helmet. For the fast and light customer I would advise the OMM adventure light 20L. This weighs just 485 grams and is truly minimalist. It is designed for gear to be fixed to the outside using its universal gear rail and for runners on mountain marathons. We do also sell women's specific backpacks. These will have shoulder straps tailored in shape and fabric to suit women as well some unique styles and colour schemes.
